Provides technical support for installation and commissioning of projects and provides maintenance, breakdown emergency support and remote troubleshooting.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesAs Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives, you will:Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions for Variable speed DrivesDevelop requisite documentation to execute work e.g. commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures daily logs etc.Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locationsBe capable of working unsupervised and leading small teamsExecute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfactionUnder the direction of a senior engineer performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systemsDevelop presentations and provides training and instruction to customers on drive operationsCoordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE's, repair services, sales, and product engineering teamsAdvise the customer of recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell GE parts and servicesCoordinate maintenance activities for the customer and planning for inspectionsProvide support to engineering teams working on customer CMU's projectsProvide support the bidding process for the customer CMU's projectsIdentify new opportunities & development of effective offerings to improve in-service equipment reliability / availabilityPromote sales of maintenance servicesPerform other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfactionProvide on call support in response to customer calls for serviceEnsure appropriate response and service is provided to customerComplete timely service reports and other administrative requirementsSupport business growth opportunities and marketing campaignsOther duties may be assigned by management to meet business needs.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5 additional years of related industry experience)Minimum 5 years of field service and/or commissioning experienceDesired CharacteristicsVariable speed Drives experience for Commissioning and troubleshooting Minimum of 3 years of experience with GE Drive systems {With 2 years practicable working knowledge of at least one GE Power Conversion drive system (Including: MV7000, SD7000, MV3000)Experience in commissioning Variable Speed drive of Siemens/ABB/Toshiba/Danfos/RockwellMinimum of 2 years practicable working knowledge of at least one GE Power Conversion drive / system controller (Including PEC, PECe, CDC)Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments, which require considerable engineering skill and creative ability and independent judgmentPossess detailed knowledge, competence and expertise with installation and commissioning tasks and servicesStrong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applicationsAbility to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practicesBackground in a customer facing position, within a Service environmentGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
