Job Title: Lead Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer

Job Summary:
The Power Conversion branch of GE Vernova is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer to join our multicultural and diverse Power Electronics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance power electronics converters for various industrial applications, including marine propulsion, oil and gas, and power generation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power electronics converters for industrial applications, ensuring high efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Design Office and Manufacturing teams to specify electrical and mechanical component BOMs.
  • Write product artifacts, including manufacturing and commissioning instructions.
  • Develop new voltage source inverters (IGBT or SiC) and thyristor converters (rectifier LCI).

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Power Electronics Converters Design.

  • Willingness to travel when needed.
  • Autonomous, curious, and able to understand new concepts, coach other engineers, and integrate into a team.
  • Experience with MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives, and cycloconverters.
  • Experience with variable speed applications, STATCOM, or active filtering.
