A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROGRAM COORDINATOR II

As a Program Coordinator II, you spend your day providing administrative support, monitor social media engagement, and assist with outreach opportunities. Your job is essential to the city, you assist in preparation for public events and presentations; coordinate and attend meetings with staff and community. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include designing flyers, posters and other media to promote the programs and facility. When you are not out in the city, you generally provide clerical support, maintain communications with outside agencies, and assist in registering clients for programs. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in customer service, public relations, and finding genuine enjoyment in what you do

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROGRAM COORDINATOR II
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalency
    • Preferred: Bachelor Degree in related field
  • One (1) year experience in overseeing operations of programs and activities
    • Preferred: Two (2) years' working in such related fields.
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense
