Reports to: Program Supervisor

Safety Sensitive Position: Yes

Job Overview: The Program Leader 1 plays a crucial role in executing and managing year-round activities for youth and teens. This position is responsible for supervising volunteer staff, ensuring the safety of participants, and actively promoting programs within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a clean and secure environment for program activities.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere conducive to youth development.
  • Design and execute programs aligned with the organization's mission.
  • Offer mentorship and support to at-risk youth and teens.
  • Handle administrative duties and manage resources effectively.
  • Engage with potential sponsors for program funding and events.
  • Collaborate with other departments for community events.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Access to personal transportation is necessary.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification is required.

Educational Qualifications: Currently pursuing a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

Experience Requirements: No prior experience is necessary.

Preferred Experience: At least one year of experience in a supervisory role.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Boys & Girls Club programs.
  • Understanding of youth program operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Good physical fitness.
  • Excellent public relations capabilities.
  • Awareness of the needs of youth and teens.

Work Environment: Combination of indoor and outdoor settings with minimal hazards.

Mental Requirements: Strong communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities are essential.
