The position oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial reporting. POSITION OVERVIEW: Working independently from, and alongside of experienced members within the Finance team, The Accounting Manager will be responsible to: Month-End Closing: Supervise and participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded. Prepare and/or review complex journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations. Analyze financial results and prepare variance reports for management review. Team Management: Supervise the Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, and Cost Accountant. Provide training, guidance, and regular feedback to support their accuracy and efficiency. Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the Controller to prepare financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Assist with the generation of reports for external auditors and banks. Inventory Management: Work closely with the Cost Accountant to ensure accurate inventory tracking, valuation, and cost reporting. Review inventory reserves and analyze inventory obsolescence provisions. Process Improvement: Analyze current accounting processes and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement process improvements, working with the team and the Controller. Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices. Requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of experience in a managerial accounting role, preferably in a wholesale, distribution or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in supervising and training accounting staff. Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls. Proficient in accounting software, especially NetSuite, and MS Office Suite. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
