It is their responsibility to manage the maintenance and operations of the building and all associated trades and manage the staff of the engineering department to ensure all work is scheduled, assigned, and completed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute department strategy consistent with the strategic plan, the fiscal budget, and the company short term and long-term profitability objectives.
  • Directly supervise all engineering activities and maintenance personnel including performance feedback, setting work priorities and goals, scheduling, training, promotions, and employee engagement.
  • Supervise the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the company's service standards and brand attributes.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and federal health, safety, and building codes and maintain accurate record keeping of department activities and documents.
  • Continuously monitor utility costs and consumption and maintain required logs for all utilities.
  • Leverage programs to maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures and oversee preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repairs/replacement of equipment.
  • Provide input and manage levels of inventory and all purchases for parts, tools, equipment, and machinery to property standards.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • Position is required to perform hands-on work as needed.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Must have general maintenance experience, preferably from a hotel, or industrial complex or Resort. Effectively, communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms. Must have proven leadership and or supervisory experience. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels. Able to use sound judgment, work independently, with minimal direction. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting(up to 50-70 pounds), reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping.
