Position Overview:
The Senior Product Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and refinement of sanding tools and related products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with the product development lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and production, to ensure product quality and performance meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of sanding tools and related products.
- Conduct market research and collaborate with the marketing team to identify new product opportunities.
- Develop detailed product specifications, 3D models, and engineering drawings.
- Work closely with production teams to optimize manufacturability and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Test and evaluate prototypes to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
- Address design and production issues in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Support the product development lifecycle, including concept generation, testing, validation, and production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 3-5 years of experience in product engineering or mechanical design, in the tool manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience with sanding tools and abrasives is required.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of product development processes and manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and a collaborative environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
