Primary Responsibilities:
- Design cost-effective, technically sound, and dependable substation layouts and control systems.
- Act as a subject matter authority, providing engineering solutions and advice on intricate challenges.
- Lead and manage an engineering team to ensure high-quality production of drawings and engineering documentation.
- Create precise cost assessments to support company budgeting and identify cash flow needs.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with other departments to meet project timelines and budgetary goals.
- Contribute to the formulation of detailed project schedules and keep the project management system updated.
- Oversee project expenditures and implement cost control measures to fulfill financial obligations.
- Ensure quality assurance and provide construction support through site evaluations and collaboration with construction teams.
- Assist other departments with unique or complex substation design issues.
- Supervise and assess the performance of department personnel to uphold high standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a highly technical and specialized engineering role.
- Comprehensive understanding of substation/control engineering principles, economic analysis, budgeting practices, and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a team of engineers, technicians, and designers.
- Strong independent decision-making capabilities and the ability to resolve complex problems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in using PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Work Environment:
- This role is situated in a standard office setting with no specific physical demands.
