The Training Coordinator position provides day-to-day support for the LD & OD6 Department. This role is within the Companys Corporate Offices and People team, delivering support in the administration, management and execution of training initiatives and programs for the Shipboard as well as Shoreside employees.

As part of the Learning and Development & OD team you will champion performance improvement and career progression for a global workforce of retail sales and management professionals across 90+ cruise ships and regional offices around the world. Your efforts and achievements will be key to driving the continued success of Starboards mission to create meaningful memories for all our guests.

What youll be doing::

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training Program Support: Administer the Companys Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g. reporting, drafting communications, course assignments, maintenance of completion records, Management-in-Training program, etc.).

  • Maintain training and communication content on the companys network or LMS, as applicable.
  • Save content to Company network and assist with special projects as assigned by the Learning and Development Director.

Implementation and Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of training sessions, workshops, and seminars. Ensure all training materials and resources are up-to-date and relevant to current industry trends and company standards.

Needs Assessment: Collaborate with shipboard and corporate L&D Manager to identify training needs and gaps. Assist with assessments and surveys to participants and pull reports.

Onboarding and Orientation: Assist the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive a thorough introduction to company culture, policies, and luxury retail sales practices.

Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics. Make recommendations for continuous improvement based on data and employee feedback.

Resource Management: Maintain a repository of training materials, resources, and documentation. Ensure all learning resources are accessible and aligned with luxury retail standards.

Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in learning and development, particularly within the luxury retail sector. Integrate relevant innovations and techniques into training programs.

Collaboration: Work closely with the HR team and other departments to support company-wide initiatives and align training programs with organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • 2-5 years of a fast-paced environment where deadlines are critical and being responsive is necessary.
  • Demonstrate experience working with a range of individuals from multiple countries and the ability to adjust style to meet the needs of a multi-national audience.
  • Cruise industry experience is beneficial but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in learning management systems and other training technologies.
  • Proven ability to design engaging and effective training materials & communications.
  • Must be exceedingly well organized, detail oriented, accurate and timely with assigned tasks.
  • Expert level in written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to interact skillfully with all levels of the organization in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • Multimedia experience (e.g. photos, videos, Canva, Adobe, etc.).
  • Firm grasp of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude.

Other:
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
