Pay

This position is an exempt position at pay grade 213.

Attendance

Non rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview

The Grants Program Manager will be to apply for Federal and State grant funding in an efficient and effective manner.

Responsibilities

•Researches and identifies potential funding sources including public, private, state, and federal organizations to support funding needs and programs

•Networks with industry trade representatives and private foundations to identify potential grant funding opportunities

•Attends trainings and conferences about new or existing funding opportunities

•Monitor state and federal legislation that may affect availability of grant funds

•Maintains personal networks and cultivates donor relationships by having significant interaction with donor officials before, during, and after the grant process

•Develops a comprehensive understanding of all City department projects and priorities to be able to identify grant opportunities to benefit on or multiple departments

•Works with departmental contacts to develop the basic outline for proposals and facilitates development of potential budget including sources of matching funds

•Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings with stakeholders

•Coordinate activities related to the planning, organization, implementation and follow up of grants

•Facilitates meetings with stakeholders; identifies objectives and assigns responsibilities; monitors progress against timeline and milestone data; and troubleshoots issues

•Prepares grant proposals including authoring grant proposal drafts for management review, sourcing required documents and obtaining approval from City of Corpus Christi Director of Finance or governing body as required for the submission of the grant

•Prepares City Council acceptance presentation for the awarded grant acceptance and appropriation

•Once grant is awarded, trains staff on grant management, interprets and communicates grant guidelines and regulations, develops an internal calendar of program milestones and funding deadlines

•Prepares an annual summary of grant activities and monthly progress reports

•Coordination of granting agency audits

•Review of grant program manager and grant accounting staff workpapers

•May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•Requires Bachelor's Degree (BA/ BS)

•Minimum of (4) four years of related experience

•Proven success submitting grant proposals and receiving grant funding

•Experience working with granting agencies

•A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
