The Intake Specialist assists marketing and development in meeting the needs of people seeking assistance in housing and services offered by Senior Housing Options Inc. The Intake Specialist is the first point of contact for individuals calling for information on housing. This individual will conduct the initial assessment functions, screen for eligibility, conduct intake, and make appropriate referrals for callers. The Intake Specialist will provide follow-up to clients as assigned and maintain positive interactions with community stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
o Receives and assesses calls for service and conducts intake process: screening individual for eligibility, collecting relevant documentation, and supporting the Administrators and Property Managers with the leasing process.
o Reach out to community members electronically regarding openings and waitlist at all properties
o Refers ineligible applicants to other organizations/programs which would best serve the applicant's needs.
o Maintain and update a database of active community support to link low-income and/or homeless households with available community resources.
o Enter prospective residents into the CRM database and then monitor and ensure follow through.
o Maintain/track applications/screening data inflow and report outcomes.
o Heavily engaged in maintaining community professional relationships.
o Attends staff, team, and department meetings.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

o Sensitivity to the concerns of residents, confidentiality, and a commitment to interacting fairly with all
o Excellent customer service, positive disposition, tactful, patience and high ethical character
o Maintains a professional demeanor and responds with urgency

o Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
o Competent in Fair Housing
o The ability to work quickly and efficiently, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
o Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse constituents

Working Conditions:
o Travel throughout the program's service area may be required (Colorado)
o Must be able to work in diverse environments
o Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, squat, lift 30lbs, sit and stand for extended periods of time, hear, listen, speak clearly, use of hands/fingers, think and memory recall
Education and Experience:
o Associate's degree in communication, business, human services, administration, or related fields.
o One-year prior work experience in customer service role; working with older adults and individuals with disabilities
o Must possess a Colorado driver's license and state mandated automobile insurance
o Must possess a personal vehicle that may be used for work-related travel (reimbursement for mileage is available)
o Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with the following: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); communication and collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom); digital calendars (Outlook), file sharing programs
o Proficient in Windows operating systems
Expected Hours of Work:
This role is considered full-time for 30 hours a week. The position is considered hybrid.
