Description POSITION SUMMARY The Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for engaging with Arizona Workforce Boards, community collaborators, and educational contacts on behalf of SciTech Institute to establish career pathways and opportunities for PK-20. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Support and develop a workforce engagement and communications strategy; Design and implement opportunities to increase the number and engagement of collaborators, mentors, and educators; Facilitate meetings, events and trainings with STEM Ecosystem community partners, organizations, and educational institutions; Generate content via written, pictorial, video, and audio mediums; Support STEM Ecosystem Hub Coordinators, Chief Science Officers, Advisors and Arizona SciTech Festival STREET Team members to engage with workforce collaborators local to county; Attend business and community meetings, conferences, and networking events to represent Institute programs and opportunities with community stakeholders; Maintain detailed notes and follow up tasks; Monitor contact engagement and provide follow up; Assist in the coordination and implementation of large scale events and programs; Produce promotional materials such as event materials, advertising copy, press releases, e-newsletters, annual reports, and other collateral; Report monthly metrics for newsletters, website visits, social media, and other campaigns; Attend regular staff meetings, key events, and other activities; Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred. Workforce experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, 3 years. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Proficiency with business applications such as MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Canva, and Google applications; Knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and some experience with basic database management; Experience with multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, networking and public speaking; Ability to organize workflow, forecast time to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines; meeting support with note taking and follow up emails; Demonstrated ability to problem solve and present solutions; Demonstrated knowledge of budget management methods and techniques preferred; Ability to build and maintain partnerships with diverse organizations in business, community, government and education; Demonstrated social media experience including blog posts and the use of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook preferred; Experience in workforce development and/or K12 education preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally requires standing, squatting, reaching and bending. Requires ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person and on telephone. Manual dexterity needed for using computer keyboard. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork. WORK ENVIRONMENT Hybrid: Remote and In-Office Required. This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as assigned workstation, computer, phone, copier and file cabinet.
