Provides administrative support to the investment banking group in various capacities including model templates, presentation templates, pipeline reporting, recruiting, and training among other important group functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand the concepts of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets and credit needed to support transactions. Independently perform detailed valuation analyses using various methodologies including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables and transaction comparables. Independently build and understand complex company financial models to analyze performance and credit trends supporting advisory and capital raise transactions. Exhibit high attention to detail and discipline to check work to produce error free and properly formatted work on a consistent basis. Independently prepare high quality presentation materials for use in client meetings and internal deal approvals covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance. Actively participate in the origination and execution of investment banking deals including M&A advisory, debt and equity transactions. Show a strong understanding of all of capital markets products gained from prior analyst experience. Manage priorities while working on a number of high priority opportunities simultaneously with minimal oversight. Begin to anticipate needs based on specific situation and proactively communicate with deal team members on status and prioritization of projects. Develop good working relationships with peers and seniors in Capital Markets and the rest of the organization. Be accessible to peers and be prepared to provide guidance in a constructive manner. Proactively seek to take on additional marketing and transaction responsibilities. Begin to develop an understanding of industry developments and trends and supporting analysis that enhance the senior investment banker's industry initiatives. Begin to attend select pitches and develop client facing responsibilities. Provide leadership in administrative areas that enhance group effectiveness including recruiting, training of junior analysts, industry and market newsletters, among other areas. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: 1-2 years of investment banking and/or capital markets experience. Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance or Accounting and 3.5 GPA preferred. Exhibit strong work ethic and passion for excellence while conducting self in a professional manner.
