SUMMARY The responsibilities of the Portfolio Manager and Commercial Underwriting Officer include analyzing credit data and financial information of persons or companies that are applying for credit or loans to determine the risk that the bank may encounter. The Portfolio Manager and Commercial Underwriting Officer will prepare reports based upon their findings to help make decisions on lending and credit-worthiness. This position is responsible for providing support, direction, credit information, and loan policies and procedures to ensure overall quality of the Bank’s lending portfolio ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Core Duties Conducts special research to analyze complex lending transactions and provides interpretation on new and existing credit facilities. Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Reviews loan applications, which includes obtaining and analyzing all necessary financial data and assessing the customers risk profile. Prepares credit analysis including the spreads of financial statements in order to prepare loan approval memoranda which includes, repayment analysis, collateral analysis, risk rating determination and loan exception identification. Identifies problem loans, makes recommendation for assignment of loans to the “watch loan list”, upgrades and downgrades in the existing portfolio. Reviews the analysis prepared by other members of the Department for Quality Control and assurance of compliance with the bank’s credit policy and procedures Manage portfolios as assigned by the Chief Credit Officer to monitor maturities, delinquencies, renewals, conversion from lines of credit to perm loans, monitor disbursements (i.e CD Loans, Construction Loans, Commercial Loans, Letters of Credit). Discusses the status of maturing loans and problem loans with the Chief Credit Officer and senior lending officers and may make recommendations regarding the future credit information needs. Coordinates with the Credit Administration Officer for the Loan portfolio to be properly reviewed based on the Bank’s Policies and Procedures Ensures that the Portfolio is appropriately Risk Rated Identifies problem loans, makes recommendation for assignment of loans to the “watch loan list”, upgrades and downgrades in the existing portfolio. Interacts with relationship managers, brokers and customers in developing credit requests to be presented to loan committee and/or final approval. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the Board of Directors. Assists in the Portfolio Purchases (Strategic and CRA) process with the monitoring of pending information, external reports for potential sellers, execution of contracts and final closing of the transaction. Establishes databases of pertinent information to be used in analyzing future plans and forecasts and the evaluation of the bank’s loan portfolios including the Portfolio Stress Testing and Concentration monitoring. Examine files systematically for adequacy of credit and collateral documentation, regulatory compliance, and loan policy conformance Assist external auditors and ensure deficiencies identified from such audits and are corrected. Assist the CCO with projects as assigned

Regulatory Prepares KYC/CDD Profile Forms and obtains all required documentation in accordance with the BSA Program.

EDUCATION & TRAINING KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE COMPETENCIES To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:
