About Us:
High Point is excited to be growing and expanding behavioral health services in the Brockton Community for patients experiencing acute behavioral health crisis seeking services as part of expanding our inpatient psychiatric services.
The High Point Short Term Assessment and Treatment (STAT) Unit will provide brief assessment, treatment initiation, and disposition planning for individuals seeking treatment for acute behavioral health needs for a period of up to 72 hours. Patients will be referred for inpatient behavioral health services by the local emergency departments, community mobile crisis services or Brockton CBHC. The STAT unit is licensed by Department of Mental Health.
Individuals hired will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of professionals includes licensed clinicians, Master's level clinicians, certified peer specialists, patient resource navigators, mental health specialists, nursing, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, medical physicians, and psychologists. Disposition planning will include transfers to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (ACCS), outpatient and community based diversionary services.

- Bachelor's Degree level degree in Psychology or a related human services field (preferred), or equivalent experience
- Bi-lingual/Multi-lingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while able maintaining professional boundaries
- Maintain mental alertness and attention to high detail
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance and provide excellent customer service as needed
- Follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgement without bias
- Help to support an open access model for screening and assessments for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring treatment services within the CBHC service model
- Provide initial screenings and assist patients and families with accessing CBHC services
- Assist patient with intake paperwork and ensure proper release and consent forms are complete
- Participates in patient outreach and engagement to support access to treatment
- Coordinates patient transportation services, as needed
- Provide care coordination and discharge planning activities to support transitions of care
- Maintain and document collateral contacts with other providers as needed, including, but not limited to primary care physicians, probation, parole, DCF, family members, natural supports, etc
- Coordinate with local Emergency Services Provider for concerns related to imminent psychiatric risk and hospitalization, referral support for CBHC core services, and follow-up
- Engage in community outreach activities as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned; including providing security support for the program to monitor patient and staff safety as part of their duties
- Must present as courteous and professional at all times
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
- Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
- TB screening
- Certification in the HPTC approved de-escalation program
- Strong and effective verbal, written and organizational skills
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPTC`s electronic medical records
- Ability to provide leadership and program development within an outpatient site
- Knowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practice
