The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Police Services (FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE). ROLE of the POSITION The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) will provide a wide array of standard and customized high-quality HR services to support the University Police Services Department (UPD) in the achievement of the University’s mission and strategic plan, adapting to the needs and styles of a diverse workforce in operational, academic, and administrative environments. The scope of responsibilities encompasses the full range and complexity of HR challenges that are strategic, tactical, and operational in nature. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, the Sr. HRBP works with subject matter experts within the Division of Human Resources to design and execute strategy for how UPD hires, onboards, develops, motivates, and retains employees as well as organizes work. The position serves as a member of the UPD leadership team, providing strategic HR guidance and consultation to management. A core part of this role includes serving on ad-hoc programs/committees and executing programs to support faculty and staff within UPD, including talent acquisition and management, career planning, performance management, employee relations, data analysis, compliance, compensation and rewards, learning and development, recognition programs, and strategic organizational development. This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources (management, labor relations, development), psychology, social psychology, or law from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and at least five years of experience in the management of complex compensation, employee relations, training, and recruitment. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Masters Degree 7-9 years of experience Experience working in higher education or law enforcement settings is desirable. Preferred certifications in PHR/SPHR/GPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or CCP.
