REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Director of Project Management and will work collaboratively with the entire organization. No positions report directly to this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE: ?DRAFTING AND DESIGN:? Utilize CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and part designs (OnShape, Solidworks, etc) Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and other technical documentation to produce accurate and precise drawings. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for mechanical design and drafting. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:Convert conceptual models into practical, functional, and manufacturable product drawings. Attend and manage design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues related to manufacturability, assembly, and performance.Contribute and provide technical insights and suggestions.PROCESS ENGINEERING: Thoroughly document existing manufacturing processes, including workflow, equipment used, and time cycles. Design and establish new manufacturing processes for upcoming products, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and sustainable. Maintain processes, forms and documentation as required by ISO 9000. DOCUMENTATION AND COMMUNICATION: Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs). Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, and others as needed to ensure seamless product development and implementation. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Apply lean methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Educate and involve employees in continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of ongoing development. Lead trainings to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions collaboratively. Perform other duties as directed by your leadership. RequirementsEDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline required. EXPERIENCE - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in design/mechanical engineering preferred, including development and documentation of new products. Previous experience in design and manufactu r ing of heavy-duty industrial products is strongly desired. Experience with lean manufacturing tools and utilization of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is required. Experience with Syteline is a plus. SKILLS - Strong listening, written and oral communication skills are essential to effectively collect and disseminate information with customers, suppliers, and employees at all levels of the organization. Professionalism, time management, organization, and prioritization skills are critical competencies. Technology proficient with experience using Microsoft Office Suite and a manufacturing ERP system. The ability to work under time and budgetary pressures is also necessary. PHYSICAL - Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, talk, and hear ( with reasonable accommodations, if necessary ) sufficiently to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations. Possess specific vision abilities including near vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus ( with corrective lenses if necessary ) to perform the requirements of the position. MENTAL - Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and possess the ability to communicate clearly on technical and business levels while maintaining professional conduct is essential.? The ability to handle high pressure, high demand situations and projects with financial impact is also critical. WORKING CONDITIONS: The Manufacturing Engineer will primarily work in a plant office setting which is a temperature controlled, smoke-free environment that also has typical factory hazards including noise, dust, cutting, drilling, solvents and blocked walkways and tripping hazards. United Equipment Accessories, Inc. functions in a real market environment that changes at various times of the year which occasionally may create high output or greater time pressure demands. This full-time, salaried position typically works Monday through Friday. The position is an exempt position and completion of duties regardless of the number of hours or number of days worked per week is expected. Office hours will vary according to travel schedule and business demands. Travel of up to 25% is required for this role.
