JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares office for daily activities Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information Greets patients arriving for appointments and ensures that all paperwork, insurance information etc. are up to date and correct Collects co-pay if necessary and issues receipt Notifies physician office and/or clinic staff of patient arrivals Maintains accurate and timely patient information in Centricity database Checks films in through computer database Answers telephones and transfers caller to appropriate staff member Scans all appropriate paperwork into EMR including outside records Attends staff meetings and participates in special committees Other duties and assignments as necessaryPERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS Reports to work regularly without undue tardiness Maintains positive attitude and demonstrates professionalism at all times Dresses appropriately and professionally Works independently, without direct supervision Completes work accurately and in a timely manner Excellent oral, written & telephone communication, along with tact, diplomacy Strong customer service skills Prioritizes work activities and accepts multiple job duties Maintains effective working relationships with physicians, administration and other staff membersEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred Some knowledge of medical terminology desirable, but not mandatory
