POSITION TITLE
Sales Distribution Manager - Coating Additives
POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Sales Distribution Manager is the owner of the regional commercial relationship between Milliken Coating Additives and the Americas distribution network. They will focus on developing, extending, and maintaining the business of Milliken Coating Additives existing distribution channel, which are regional & global paint & coating companies. The ideal candidate has a passion to develop our coating additives platform at distributors through value-add technical selling skills, developing distributor account goals, plans, and strategies in line with the overall business platform strategy. This person will take the lead in evaluating, developing, and executing a channel strategy for North & South America. This position reports to the America's Sales Manager.
This position is remote.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute distributor account plans to drive profitable, sustainable growth at our channel partners.
- Evaluate, develop, and execute a distributor channel strategy for North & South America.
- Partner with Technical Service to conduct distributor training seminars on Borchers coating additives and assist customers in solving technical problems.
- Collaborate with R&D and Marketing on product launch plans at distributors to introduce and educate customers on Borchers coating additives technology.
- Deep knowledge and skill in overall sales process, preparing for customer calls, anticipating customer needs, and working through customer issues.
- Cooperate internally and externally with Marketing, Technical, Purchasing, Sourcing and Logistics to succeed in meeting customer needs.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or other technical degree.
- 7+ years of paint and coatings technical sales experience including track record of past sales successes.
- 1+ years evaluating, selecting, and managing distributors.
- Experience selling coating additives, pigments or specialty resins is required.
- Proactive, results oriented approach to business.
- Other skills important to the roll include:
- Proven results in growing specialty product line(s).
- Proficient with Excel and Salesforce.
- Ability to travel 60%+ domestically and internationally.
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED
- Lab experience in formulating or working with coating systems.
- Experience with Miller Heiman Strategic Selling.
