Read below to discover a bit more about this position and apply today Job Function: The Employment Specialist position requires you to promote individual success by learning about their interests, skills, strengths and any perceived barriers to employment. Some of the key responsibilities and functions are included below. Develop schedules and implement creative job development strategies beyond newspapers or internet. Develop personalized plans to help participants work toward self-sufficiency and job success. Submit required reports per contract and/or LCS expectations and maintain a database of active and potential employers. Work collaboratively with the participant, their DVR counselor, and support team to gain employment in the community. Coordinate with outside resources that may help a participant deal with issues outside of DVR services. Provide employment services to participants per DVR technical specifications and ensure current authorization from the funding source for all services before the start of service. Complete monthly DVR and/or long-term care billing along with monthly progress reports. Basic Requirements: At least 2 years’ experience in working with individuals with disabilities. HS Diploma is required (2-year degree in the Human Services field is preferred). A valid Driver’s License is required. Knowledge of Department of Vocational Rehabilitation regulations is helpful.
