Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring product safety and compliance within the food production sector. This position is guided by the Director of Quality Assurance and involves various responsibilities aimed at maintaining high standards of quality.

QualificationsEducation:
Associates degree in Food Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory settings, with a focus on Quality Assurance systems and documentation.

Technical Skills:

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for:

  • Conducting customer surveys and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Researching and understanding international food regulations.
  • Performing laboratory functions, including the collection, sampling, and testing of products using aseptic techniques.
  • Ensuring adherence to process control and product safety standards.

This role operates in compliance with FDA, FSMA, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, which define the safety protocols for food production.

Additionally, the Quality Assurance Specialist may be required to provide coverage for key personnel during their absence, as outlined in the Operational Coverage document.
