Duties And Responsibilities

The Accountant – Accounts Payable positionis responsible for reconciling, classifying and verifying data for use in management and regulatory reporting as well as operation of the Bank. Duties include a variety of general accounting support functions assigned based on immediate needs of the department.

The Incumbent Will

Order and ship currency to all branches Conduct daily audit of Federal Reserve debits and credits on currency and work with branches on any discrepancies Responsible for processing vendor accounts payable including answering questions, maintaining vendor contact information and researching incorrect statements Input, process and mail invoices daily Provide support to the Controller during the monthly close by verifying that all major vendor payments are posted Audit invoices against purchase orders; research discrepancies, and approve for payment Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills; Code data for input to financial accounts payable system according to bank procedures Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records and review for accuracy Assist employees, vendors or clients by answering questions related to accounts, procedures and services Ensure end of year 1099s are accurate Post entries to the general ledger as needed Prepare ad hoc management reports

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent One (1) year of accounts payable experience Experience in banking preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Ability to stay organized and use effective time management skills as demonstrated in previous experience managing multiple tasks within assigned deadlines Experience in a position requiring accuracy and attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

The physical requirements and environmental conditions of this position consist primarily of:

Sustained standing and sitting Frequent use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor Occasional lifting of basic office files or equipment up to 20 lbs Normal office environment with comfortable internal temperatures and low level noise
