What About the Position?
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in our Financial Services Team, delivering accurate and timely financial information. You will manage general ledger accounts, lead automation projects, and oversee and report on the financial activities critical to our continued success. The Senior Account position requires excellent accounting, communication and analytical skills, leadership in process improvement, and the ability to proactively solve company financial matters. This includes reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, automation and process improvement and compliance tasks crucial to maintaining our financial integrity and supporting our growth initiatives. What Will You Do?
Apply accounting principles and policies, staying updated with changes in regulations
Reconcile Transportation and Freight Pay bank statements monthly
Perform analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts as assigned
Prepare and post monthly and year end journal entries as assigned
Manage and reconcile company credit card statements to maximize rebates
Post daily Freight Pay transactions and process daily Freight Pay credit card payments
Post the subsidiary ledger
Upload daily positive pay file for Transportation and Freight Pay accounts
Review weekly Freight Pay data imports for completion and accuracy
Upload daily Freight Pay data to McLeod
Create and record monthly freight payment invoices
Manage and reconcile Concur travel, expense, and invoicing programs
Assist with the auditing of some Freight pay accounts
Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for analysis purposes
Track and ensure licenses, leases, taxes etc are maintained
Monthly preparation of the Borrowing Base Certificate
Annual preparation of personal property tax returns
Annual preparation of 1099’s
Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization
Work with confidential data
Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed
