Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Design Engineer and engage in both conceptual and detailed design tasks for aircraft and spacecraft structural configurations. Your role will involve creating components or parts of a functional system to enhance products and support manufacturing operations. You will integrate various vehicle systems and handle the creation and release of detailed 3D parts, assemblies, installations, and drawings. Collaborate with multiple engineering stakeholders throughout the design, production, integration, test, delivery, and operation phases. You will also provide essential design engineering support by addressing inquiries and requests from both internal and external customers, and prepare detailed reports that collect, analyze, and summarize information.
Hard Skills
  • 5 years of experience in 3D modeling (CATIA V5) of composite structures and aircraft modifications
  • Design and release of parts and assemblies

Work Environment

This position is based at Spaceport America near Las Cruces, NM, with opportunities to work hands-on with aircraft in the hangar. While the primary location is at the Gateway to Space, some days can be spent at the Las Cruces offices depending on project needs. This role is part of a close-knit engineering team of 6, under the leadership of the Director of Operations Engineering, and operates on a strict 40-hour work week schedule.
