Job Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager directs and coordinates daily railroad and warehouse operations for the plant, including but not limited to managing all the shipping, receiving, movement, production line supply, and inventory within the warehouses and railroad. The Warehouse & Logistics Manager interacts with internal ERP and external ERP systems to manage inventory and report status to internal customers and the S&OP team. This role supervises Inside and Outside Warehouse associates emphasizing effective day-to-day warehouse performance.
Experience & Education
A minimum of 3 years of experience successfully demonstrating warehouse leadership capability is required.
Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree program with a focus on logistics, supply chain, or business administration is required.
Minimum 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience with Lean Six Sigma manufacturing and project management.
SAP experience preferred.
Completed or in-progress APICS Certification is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensures that regular cycle counts are performed, and inventory is correct.
Ensures all products received are inspected and correct.
Ensures all products shipped meet appropriate packaging requirements to ensure undamaged shipments.
Ensures that requisitions for material shortages, damaged product and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Meets with direct reports to provide feedback and coaching.
Meets with customers/vendors to understand warehouse/logistics, issues, and provide updates on any ongoing corrective action.
Summarizes and presents warehouse status at the site and results of ongoing initiatives.
Participates in internal and external audits.
Establishes and communicates safety goals and expectations. Enforces company policies and procedures with subordinates and peers.
Collaborates with leadership at their respective campuses.
Key Goals & Deliverables
Reduces risk and ensures a safe working environment.
Controls the costs within the warehouse/logistics budget.
Increases the number of orders delivered on-time and in-full.
Decrease Defect % by decreasing the percentage of total orders returned due to a GEON-caused quality issue.
Identifies, leads, and reports on efforts that create efficiencies in the company value chain.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Regularly performs repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Regularly remains in a stationary position (ex: standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 55 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Regularly use safety equipment as dictated by the work area, such as: safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
Regularly exposed to moderate noise levels.
Occasionally exposed to high noise levels.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, vibration, and non-hazardous chemical agents.
Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
