JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Compliance Specialist II. This position is instrumental in fulfilling the Companys obligation to maintain the required closed system of controlled substance distribution by implementing and improving our systems to detect and report suspicious orders and carry out Know Your Customer activities.

The Compliance Specialist II duties include, but are not limited to, customer due diligence, investigating flagged orders, communication with pharmacy personnel through email and direct phone conversations, documentation of customer interactions, conducting site visits, obtaining, and maintaining state and federal licensures.

This position is located at the corporate office in Shreveport, Louisiana.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Help develop, review, and measure effectiveness of all SOPs related to Suspicious Order Monitoring. Identify changes that would enhance the process and ensure that all change control documentation is implemented. Analyze controlled substance orders and SOM data for diversion trends and make appropriate recommendations. Investigate specific orders of interest and ensure timely completion of investigations coordinating with relevant stakeholders. Serve as an escalation point when order release or cancellation recommendations require further assistance and expertise. Monitor a central repository of documentation to ensure controlled substance documentation is maintained in an inspection-ready state. Regularly monitor the timely reporting of suspicious orders to the DEA. Regularly monitor the timely transmission of Suspicious Order Reports for states that require. Regularly monitor direct and downstream customers to ensure systems are flagging orders appropriately. Collect and analyze data from disparate sources (i.e., DEA ARCOS data, census, state pharmacy board disciplinary information, social media information related to the pharmacy, information regarding proximity to pharmacies and other healthcare institutions, etc.) to make recommendations for restrictions and reinstatements according to SOPs. Regularly monitor SOM industry trends, best practices, and guidance. Conduct controlled substance customer account set up due diligence reviews. Monitor, audit, and identify discrepancies between customer licenses, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve. Conduct controlled substance customer account set up due diligence reviews. Preferred Skills Knowledge of DEA regulations and standards applicable to the pharmaceutical industry. Working knowledge in US Pharmacopeia 1079 would be an asset. Competent with computer systems and various software platforms such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. Clear and concise written and verbal communication. Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to details. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, maturity, good judgement and maintain strict confidentiality when exposed to, and handling, sensitive and confidential information. Work independently or in a team setting to achieve individual, departmental, and organizational goals. Must be able to take extensive direction during training period.

Qualifications and Education Requirements University degree preferred; high-school diploma required. A background as a pharmacy technician required. Have the ability to communicate with pharmacy staff confidently and professionally through email and direct phone conversations on a daily basis.
