Transfer and Professional Admissions Recruiter

JOB SUMMARY

The Office of Admissions seeks a dynamic Transfer and Professional Student Admissions recruiter to join the SU Professional Transfer Center. As a Professional Transfer Center Team member, your role will primarily focus on recruiting transfer students, adult learners, and graduate students. You will be responsible for participating in and assessing recruitment efforts and the impact of our transfer recruitment strategy to promote SU as a top-notch transfer and graduate university. You will work closely with a highly collaborative team that demonstrates an understanding of best practices in recruiting and enrolling transfer students, adult learners, and professional graduate students.

The salary/Hourly wage for this position is $36,000 yearly, and it offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage, 403b, 23 Paid Time Off days, 21 Holidays, and tuition remission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Excellent lead/inquiry management and understanding of a fast-paced sales cycle
  • Initiate a high volume of outbound communication with prospective students
  • Review and make recommendations on transfer applicants on a rolling basis
  • Tracks how students are moving through the admissions cycle from initial contact to enrollment to achieve individual and team target goals
  • Work with Admissions Director and Transfer specialist to determine markets of interest
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Capability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong organization skills with a proven ability to multi-task and navigate frequent priority shifts
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport and develop relationships with multiple constituencies
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with community colleges and community organizations to support prospective student pathways
  • Ability to work evening events, including weekends
  • Ability to work open house, orientation, and other special events sponsored by the Office of Admissions as needed
  • Travel to surrounding counties and states
  • Facilitate campus tours and visits for prospective students
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong recruitment, sales, and customer service skills combined with a strong work ethic and a goal-oriented, self-motivated approach toward achieving consistent results
  • Computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, experience using customer relationship management systems (CRM) and learning new systems quickly.
  • Excellent communication and listening abilities: persuasive and negotiation skills, strong professional writing, public speaking, interpersonal and public relations skills
  • 1-3 years of recruitment, sales, marketing, and/or public relations/communications experience
  • SLATE experience preferred
  • 3 years experience in recruitment, Admissions, or higher education is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Regular or daily contact with the Dean of Enrollment Management, Director of Marketing, Director of Admissions, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Regular contact with the general public.
