Job Summary:
Evaluate and modify the efficiency of transportation and Supply Chain Network. Collect and Interpret logistics data, evaluate efficiency of transits and identify streamlined transportation methods.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
Analyze transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization. This includes analyzing shipment volumes, transit times, carrier performance, and freight costs.
Develop and implement efficient routing strategies to minimize transportation costs, reduce transit times, and improve delivery accuracy. Utilize routing software and tools to optimize daily routes for both inbound and outbound shipments.
Evaluate carrier performance, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships with transportation providers. Monitor carrier compliance with service level agreements and identify opportunities for cost savings
Continuously review and improve transportation processes to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve overall performance. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and reliable transportation services.
Conduct detailed cost analysis of freight expenses, including fuel surcharges, accessorial charges, and carrier rates. Identify cost-savings opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce transportation costs
SCOPE & IMPACT:
This position is responsible for optimizing transportation operations and logistics strategies within La-Z-Boy's distribution network. They will analyze transportation data, monitor performance metrics, and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. The role encompasses various tasks related to route planning, carrier management, freight cost analysis, and continuous process improvement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent
Previous experience as a Transportation Analyst or in a similar role
Strong mathematical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel
Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
Up to 20% travel
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with Power BI
Final Mile Delivery Experience
Experience with negotiations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
