SSI is looking for a Space Vehicle Electrical Engineer in Chantilly, VA. This job spans a range of Satellite Vehicle Engineering activities supporting the Government customer with multiple satellite systems, both on-orbit and in development. This position will primarily support the design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test activities for one of the major satellite programs. The job requires in-depth knowledge of satellite and payload component electrical design and analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

•Assist in overseeing the design, manufacturing, and test activities for the satellite bus and payload.

•Assist in overseeing the assembly, integration, and test of the satellite and payload.

•Assist the GPOC in managing and evaluating contractor PDRs, CDRs, and MRRs.

•Review/monitor enterprise, system, subsystem, and assembly-level test and verification/validation planning and execution.

•Attend enterprise system, subsystem, and segment-level design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, and requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the GPOC.

•Review test plans/procedures and test results and test reports for completeness and accuracy, including compliance with approved plans, and provide feedback to the GPOC.

•Support the customer in the oversight of bus and payload subsystem hardware development, integration, and test activities at the Prime/subcontractor and associated vendor facilities.

•Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the enterprise, system, and subsystem level and then work with the Government enterprise Prime/Subcontractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches.

•Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts.

Required Qualifications:

    • EE Degree or equivalent and 15 years or more experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
