Position Function: The Product Manager (Deposits) is responsible all matters pertaining to the end-to-end process for each of the deposit (and deposit-related) products, services fees and miscellaneous fees. Develops and enhances the Bank's retail product line through market assessment (external and internal) to improve product profitability, procedural/ operational efficiencies or risk mitigation through the product's life cycle. Establishes and maintains relationships with various departments and outside vendors in an effort to develop/implement new products and improve existing products. Products and services include, but are not limited to consumer and business, checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, overdraft privilege, and value-added packages. Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness. Primary Accountabilities: Product Development/Management: Develop and implement product line positioning and strategy. Obtain approval and implement product promotion and sales campaigns. Assist in establishing campaign objectives and securing promotional offers (rate or gift). Be able to quantify opportunity/financial impact after data gathering, research or other analysis and articulate recommendation via a Business Case. Develop planning sheets for new products/packages to include budget, cost/benefit analysis and project schedules. Provide direction to assigned analysts in Treasury to develop cost/benefit analysis. Assist in setting and managing goals for product promotions and sales campaigns. Track/report on performance of campaigns. Monitor product profitability/positioning and be aware of changes in the environment (customer behavior, competition, etc.) that can impact profitability. Monitor competitive environment –fees, rates, product features, offers. Assess product competitiveness in the marketplace, seek and follow through on opportunities to increase market penetration. Monitor external and internal environment – problems, technological advances, economic conditions, regulatory changes and identify opportunities for change. Manage projects to develop and implement new products, enhance or streamline existing products, promote products, etc. This includes defining business requirements, defining customer communication requirements, and tracking of results. Manage the overall product portfolios to ensure that new account growth, attrition, net growth, cross sales and profitability support the bank’s overall balance sheet and income goals. Ensure product tools are effective in supporting the sales team’s objectives.

Relationship Management: Act as the liaison for the development of new channels and/or improvement of existing channels (i.e. branch, online, mobile, etc.) to enhance access to deposit products and services. Maintain relationships with sales teams, the front line, and support areas to ensure growth goals are achieved and facilitate customer feedback on product needs and market opportunities. Negotiate, execute and manage customer, vendor, and third-party vendor agreements. Work with Training to disseminate Product Knowledge & Sales Tools well in advance of product launch.

Fee Revenue: Manage the bank’s fee revenue for all fees associated with deposit products and services (e.g., service charges, NSF fees, etc.). Work with Fee Manager, sales teams, and line units to develop annual fee revenue budget. Monitor and track fee revenue results. Take correction action, as necessary, when results are falling short of budget.

Strategic Initiatives: Assist Department Manager in developing, plans, and implements various strategic initiatives identified by Executive Committee as priority initiatives for year. The Product Manager will utilize various project management skills as he/she will be working with a few to many business units across the bank as these initiatives are implemented.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business or Management required.

Experience: 6+ years of experience in product development management or marketing required. 5+ years of experience as a team leader OR 3 years of management experience required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated. Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications. Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions. Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents. Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
