Description

Proof of the Pudding is the premier catering and concessions partner for the Newport International Boat Show (NIBS). Proof of the Pudding also partners with Informa U.S. Boat and Yacht Shows for five major events in Florida - Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, St Pete Power and Sailboat Show, Miami International Boat Show, Palm Beach International Boat Show, and the Suncoast Boat Show.

Proof of the Pudding, is seeking Hospitality Bartenders to join the Premium team. Hospitality Bartenders are responsible for product inventory, making simple beverages, following policies, and bar clean up post event. Work assignments and tasks can change daily based on the immediate needs of the event calendar.

essential duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for both pre & post bar set-up/breakdown responsibilities.
  • Sets bar up in a timely manner, including icing down product.
  • Communicates well with bar back personnel during the event to assist them with replenishment during shift.
  • Greets all guests and gives exceptional customer service.
  • Attentive to guests needs throughout the entire event.
  • Cleans bar after closing, discard excess ice.
  • Record closing inventory
  • Responsible for putting away all inventory as directed.
  • Follows all federal, local, and venue alcohol policies.
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ years of bartending experience
  • Must be TIPs/TEAM certified (will accept Team certification or will provide training).
  • Knowledge of upscale/VIP service styles required.
  • Must willing to work in Newport, RI.
  • Must be available for all event days September 12-15, 2024

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The work environment for this position will work out of and report to the Newport Yachting Center Marina. Events may be indoors, outdoors, or in temporary structures. This position will often move throughout the grounds and venue on different terrains.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of being in one place, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting up-to 30 pounds.

Position Salary & Benefits:
  • This is considered a part-time hourly position with a starting pay rate of $15/hr.
