$16.50 per hour, 40 hours per week

BASIC FUNCTION OF INTAKE CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST:

To determine the eligibility or ineligibility of clients applying for Energy Assistance and Weatherization. Clients may be found eligible for assistance with their home heating bills. To refer ineligible households to other available fuel assistance programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF INTAKE CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST:
  • Accurate data entry of all customer information required when applying for energy assistance.
  • Insure that all information is correct.
  • Determine if all documentation required is received.
  • Configure amounts from sources of income and translate them into monthly income figures.
  • Notify client of award amount (if any) or of ineligibility for program.
  • Provide information on energy assistance program and other programs offered.
  • Enroll participants in Utility Arrears Forgiveness programs and complete low budget worksheet.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS OF INTAKE CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in program implementation
  • Knowledge of Energy Assistance Program and other programs available to low-income and/or elderly
Job Skills:
  • Ability to work with a variety of people
  • Strong Math Skills
  • Capability to multi-task and good organization skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Ability to use calculator
