The Commercial Lending Relationship Manager promotes development and fosters business lending relationships for small business and lower middle-market firms for Suffolk Credit Union.
Responsibilities:
- Sells commercial loan products to prospects in an effort to meet or exceed annual production goal standards set for a Relationship Manager
- Submit call reports to AVP of Commercial Lending as needed or required
- Cross-sells additional Suffolk Credit Union business and non-business services as appropriate
- Presents business loan credit memos to the credit union's Management Loan Committee
- Calls on targeted prospects and referral sources, including brokers, to acquire new business
- Counsels members on business loans
- Backs up other departmental staff as necessary
- Achieves a minimum of "Satisfactory" rating on internal audits and examinations
- Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field required. Equivalent work experience beyond a high school diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement on a year-by-year basis.
Two (2) to five (5) years of commercial lending experience required.
Qualified individuals should have demonstrated experience in sourcing commercial loans with a proven history of consistently booking $25MM/year.
Previous credit training experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of non-portfolio lending
- Proficient knowledge of loan participations and the participation process
- Proficient knowledge of commercial loan application and approval standards
- Advanced knowledge of credit union loan policies as well the following regulations: Truth in Lending, HMDA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Uniform Commercial Code, HUD, RESPA, Fair Housing Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as lending related laws and other NCUA regulations
- Knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, regulations and procedures
- Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying loan policies and objectives
- Demonstrated computer and software skills
- Demonstrated skill in member/customer service
- Demonstrated credit analysis skills
- Demonstrated skill in reporting and summarizing complex financial and statistical data
