Join the IPD Team We are seeking a full-time Regional Sales Manager Northwest United States and West Canada the growth of IPD business by selling IPD products to newly identified and established customers within approximately 7 States and 3 Canadian Provinces in the region. Anticipated results include: establishing new accounts, growth of existing accounts, meeting established sales quotas while maintaining acceptable margins, monitoring competitive activity and trends within the territory, and keeping customer informed about available products and services. Sales experience in heavy duty engines, equipment, machinery, or automotive power train is required.

A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regular Functions:

  • Deliver sales results in territory through expansion of current accounts and the development of new accounts.
  • Develop and implement a sales plan defining objectives, strategies, budgets, forecast and action plans. Report sales activity through regular sales reports submitted to supervisor on a timely basis.
  • Survey territory for new customers.
  • Determine best alternatives for IPD product Distribution.
  • Assist IPD Distributors with marketing efforts in their area.
  • Assist IPD Management with Policy implementation to customers.
  • Conduct Technical and Sales presentations to customers and prospects.
  • Assist IPD Warranty & Technical Department with ID policy implementation to customers.
  • Work closely with Manager, Customer Service and other departments in U.S. offices.
  • Communicate customer driven New Product Opportunities to IPD leadership.
  • Distribute all IPD literature to IPD customers, prospects or potential new customers.
  • Proficiently utilize CRM to supply current customer information and regular reporting to all IPD departments and keep all IPD databases updated.
  • Monitor customer pay habits and credit terms. Support IPD credit department with credit limits and collections.
  • Assist in all marketing efforts as needed in the territory.
  • Attend trade shows in any location as required.
  • Attend sales or marketing meetings, lectures or classes as required.
  • Supply all required data to IPD Management including updated sales projections and feedback on a yearly, quarterly or as needed basis.
  • Obtain and provide feedback to/from IPD Management and Associates regarding:
  1. Market research
  2. Competitive information
  3. Projections of product or new product sales
  4. Collection of marketing or competitive data
  5. General Market, industry or business information.
  • Maintain current knowledge of company products, services and industry issues.
  • Complete all expense reports and submit to IPD Payables with receipts on a timely basis.
  • Travel to U.S. and Canadian customer sites as needed. Schedule trips, develop itineraries and prioritize calls to ensure maximum efficiency of travel time while controlling travel cost. Overnight travel expected to be approx. 50-60% and may include an occasional weekend.
  • Implement company sales process to initiate, engage and follow up with customer contacts and interactions by means of: professional written emails, letters, proposals and other business correspondence.

Periodic Functions:

  • Develop and/or submit reports as needed.
  • Develop and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not currently manage anyone.

B. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree (B. A. or B.S.) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years related experience

Professional Training and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge in automotive or heavy equipment industry
  • Completion of Sales training an asset

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Proficiency in use of CRM
  • Valid drivers license required and must be maintained.
