Business Development Manager

DescriptionJoin our teamSchnabel, a leader in specialty underground construction, is looking for a Business Development Manager. This role was created to expand our business and navigate strategic partnerships from a national level. The main responsibility is to bring new and exciting bid opportunities to our field offices. Schnabel was founded in 1959 in Washington DC and has grown to become one of the nation's top geostructural contractors. Family owned and operated; we are currently looking to add a business development manager at our corporate office. This role will report directly to the President of the company and provide support to executive leadership.Our typical scope of work includes installation of piles, lagging, walers, tiebacks, and braces for support of excavation projects. We also take on challenging projects with underpinning, grouting, tunneling, and unique structural support as part of our scope. Candidates having direct construction experience and familiarity with our company's traditional scope of work are preferred.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategy to increase sales with our existing top customers Bring new customers that align with our strategic growth goals in the businessCollaborate with preconstruction and operations teamsPartner with corporate resources to gain share in existing markets and also develop strategy to penetrate new markets through targeted marketing and other creative methodsCultivate new client relationships through networking Travel nationally to attend in person meetings and educate clients on our servicesAttend seminars and industry conferences to network with clients and potential clientsEvaluate competitors to continuously expand our competitive differentiationTrain and mentor business development skills to internal stakeholdersFamiliarity with implementation and application of CRM systemsCoordination of the organizations marketing activities associated with strategic growth initiativesPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in business administration, Civil Engineering, or other relevant degree5 years of experience in business development or construction sales role Ability and willingness to travel frequentlyExcellent oral and written communication skillsBenefitsHealth, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance401(k) with company matchGenerous PTO plan and paid HolidaysCompany bonus planCompany vehicle or vehicle allowanceSchnabel is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is fully committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.
