Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing departments and business processes.
Responsibilities:- Assist and support the workflow and lean manufacturing processes for production department.
- Analyze actual production methods using lean manufacturing principles, benchmarks, and forms.
- Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of waste within business processes and identification of better ways of working
- Assist with the implementation of the line balancing, single-piece-flow work-cells, standard work, etc. together with production staff to meet daily product demand and improvement of manufacturing efficiencies.
- Train and educate employees in all aspects of lean manufacturing related to production.
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change, provide support to the production staff to ensure that implemented lean principles are being understood.
- Identify and deliver measurable improvement activity across the business through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking
- Recommend machinery, hand tools, processes, and procedures that help improve product/component quality, reduce lead times, or reduce manpower requirements.
- Lead/facilitate Kaizen events and lean manufacturing training.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Minimum 3-5 years proven continuous improvement experience from a similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
- A degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
- Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred.
- Proven ability to self-manage and deliver initiatives on time.
- Excellent inter-personal skills to build relationship internally and externally.
- Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping.
- Hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions experience.
- Ability to set-up, facilitate and lead improvement sessions with a range of business stakeholders, ability to speak effectively before groups of employees within the organization.
- Full understanding lean manufacturing principles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds.
