Service Coordinator

The Gary E. Miller Canadian County Children's Justice Center operates as a department of the Canadian County government, providing services and programs for children and families.
Included are offices for the Juvenile Case Managers, Detention Center, Behavioral Health, CHBS, Alternative School as well as the local agency of the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs.
Title of position: Service Coordinator
Description of essential duties and responsibilities:
- Assist all CCCJC programs in identifying resources for youth and families from local and state agencies such as TANF, housing assistance, food stamps, medical coverage, educational and vocational services, substance use and mental health services, parenting skills, and domestic violence services by consistently maintaining and updating a current list/file of service providers, etc.
- Coordination with other departments and agencies.
- Schedule, coordinate, facilitate, supervise, and provide transportation for family visitation/parenting time, etc.
- Set up Zoom/Teams meetings to allow visitation when face-to-face visitation is unavailable.
- Coordinate with other departments and agencies to ensure they have needed information and documentation on consumers in program.
- Attend all meetings, staffings, hearings, and trainings as required by Family Treatment Court, Center administration, and county officials.
- Participate as a member of the Family Treatment Court Team when appropriate.
- Complete all relevant paperwork in a timely manner including, but not limited to, notes, reports, and filing.
- Assist in Development and maintenance of relationships with CCCJC staff, court services staff, ADA's office, OKDHS, and others to ensure continued delivery of services.
- Adhere to Center policy for conduct, dress code, leave, etc.
- Attend work as scheduled on a full-time basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Possess a high school diploma plus 3 years of experience in a human services-related work; OR
- Possess an associate's degree in a human-services related field plus 1 year of experience in human services-related work.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass a background check to include drug and alcohol screening
- Possess a valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and proof of automobile liability insurance.
This position reports to the Family Treatment Court Coordinator.
Skills and knowledge required:
Have knowledge of safe driving practices and car seat regulations, be willing to participate in additional safety training provided by CCCJC and agency partners. Agree to adhere to laws and regulations in regard to custody, welfare, protection, etc. Willingness to understand state/local directives and guidelines regarding juvenile case management. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be able to prioritize, organize, and think critically. Establish proficiency in Microsoft Office and other job-related software.
Individual should demonstrate understanding and respect for all consumers with a high level of professionalism. The ideal candidate will have adequate knowledge of child/adolescent development and be able to relate well to youth and their families. Individual should have good time management, organizational skills and good driving record. He or she should be diligent in documentation and record-keeping with knowledge in community resources. Ideal candidate will have a willingness and capacity to understand the impacts of trauma and culture and provide services with a nonjudgmental approach.

Amount of travel and other special conditions or requirements:
Position requires travel/transport to perform job duties and to attend required training.
Work Schedule:
Required 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch (unless other arrangements have been made by supervisor)/willingness to adjust schedule as needed. Position will require evenings.
Required Standards:
CCCJC requires the following standards for the Service Coordinator providing non-emergency transportation services:
- Car inspection
- Interview
- Current driver's license, valid liability insurance and registration; reviewed quarterly by Human Resources
- Successful completion of HIPAA/PHI training within the first 30 days of employment
- Agrees to and complies with audio recording of each ride
- Successful completion of background investigation
This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019.
