A total of four vacancies are available, with an intended start date no later than January 2024.
PurposeThe Facilities Operator is responsible for monitoring mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that support cleanrooms and facilities and makes real time decisions to react to changing conditions.
ResponsibilitiesMaintains the facility within operating parameters, including adjusting systems to control water, air, pressure, temperature, and dew point.
Monitors and controls fire, electrical and mechanical systems that support the cleanroom and facilities using SCADA and Building Automation systems.
Performs rounds each shift. Records conditions of systems each shift from direct observation. Systems include, but are not limited to compressed dry air, cooling towers, boilers, fire pumps, emergency generators, bulk gases, ultra-pure water, chillers, vacuum, commercial water, commercial power, waste neutralization, bulk chemical distribution.
Assists in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the facility. This activity is performed synchronous to monitoring time spent in control room.
Responds to maintenance service requests and completes assigned preventive maintenance activities.
Operative knowledge of air handlers, air compressors, boilers, chillers, exhaust scrubbers, pneumatics, waste neutralization, and liquid distribution.
General knowledge of semiconductor facilities operations for utilities, waste processing and water systems.
Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstration of the following competencies: sense of urgency, detail oriented, self-starter, mechanically inclined, and excellent communication skills.
Associate or bachelor's degree
2 years' experience with BAS or SCADA control systems.
4 years' experience in a semiconductor facilities environment.
$62,400 + depending on qualifications
Working ConditionsEnvironmental Demands:
Work occurs inside and outside in all seasons. Expect conditions from hot to cold, wet to arid.
Personal protective equipment is required to prevent hazardous exposures.
Alarms, unscheduled calls, and static and abrupt noises are expected.
Physical Demands:
70% of time in Stationary position, often sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods.
Viewing a computer monitor for prolonged periods.
30% of time walking around the site for prolonged periods.
Occasionally required to push and/or pull objects of 50+ lbs.
Occasionally required to lift and carry for short distances objects of 50+ lbs.
Frequently required reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, or stoop to access and work on equipment.
May require different positions and motions in tight or confined spaces.
Occasionally required to climb ladders and other secure structures, as well as maintain balance.
Occasionally required to operate forklifts, boom lifts, motorized and non-motorized pallet jacks, and other powered equipment.
Occasionally required to wear PPE, including a hearing protection, chemical gowns, face masks, and gloves.
Often requires repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, or fingers.
This is a compressed-shift position, which involves working 12-hour shifts (6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.) on seven of every fourteen days.
Shift differential pay may be available for night shift work.
