Hiring for Operational Excellence Lead

Key responsibilities:
Play a key role in supporting site Operations, R&D and Quality to deliver business results by working with teams to identify opportunities for improvement and taking accountability for rigorous project execution and delivery using Six Sigma, Lean and other approaches.

Key requirements:
  • Preferred Education Level: Bachelors
  • Preferred Field of Study: Engineering or Science
  • Minimum Years Required Experience: 5
  • Preferred Field of Experience: Pharma and cGMP


Key Accountabilities:

•Develop improvement project business case to secure the necessary support and resources for success

•Plan, lead, drive and execute improvements projects to deliver successful results using DMAIC approach

•Report milestone project progress and elevate major barriers to progress to ensure projects are delivered to plan

•Establish performance measures and process control plans to monitor project results to maintain improvement gains

•Support departmental improvement efforts in a variety of project team member roles to accelerate delivery of improvements

•Communicate project progress and promote project achievements to maintain awareness of improvement activity on site

•Become a knowledge resource to the site, coaching others in the philosophy, methods, tools, and techniques of process improvement to increase the capability of the business to respond to problems

•Assign and communicate Safety and Sustainability responsibilities and ensure that individuals are trained and competent to effectively carry out their responsibilities

•Ensure that Safety and Sustainability expectations are clearly communicated and integrated, where appropriate, into internal standards, guidelines, procedures, work practices, and other operational documents

•Ensure compliance with internal and external Safety and Sustainability requirements, including legal requirements

•Become familiar with relevant Safety and Sustainability risks and opportunities

•Ensure that Safety and Sustainability deficiencies, incidents and other undesired events are thoroughly reported and investigated to identify and address their causal factors

•Regularly monitor Safety and Sustainability performance and take action, where necessary, to improve performance

•Maintain overall responsibility and accountability for Safety and Sustainability performance

•Adhere to all defined Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations and seek clarification whenever Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations are either unknown or unclear

•Promptly report identified Safety and Sustainability issues, problems, deficiencies, errors, incidents, and/or opportunities to management and correct where possible

•Stop work where deemed necessary to maintain safety

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the location of the successful candidate, qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
