About the Role:

As a Principal Engineer, CPU Verification, you will be a key member of the design verification team at Ampere to deliver our high-quality next generation AI integrated, cloud-native server class SoCs. You will be responsible for defining verification strategies and architecting solutions for complex verification problems. You will partner with stakeholders in adjacent domains and enable verification team to left shift bug hunting and meet verification goals on schedule. You'll be involved with all aspects of product development starting with specifications through tape-out and product launch.

What you'll achieve:

  • Define strategy and requirements for block level and chip level testing infrastructure
  • Create test plans for unit-level and chip-level verification
  • Design and implement test benches and verification environment
  • Develop random test generators to generate tests and debug failures
  • Define and drive completion of all verification activities to meet product quality requirements
  • Define post-si validation plans and debug post-silicon system level failures
  • Mentor/guide the work of junior engineers
About you:
  • MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years (with MS) or 8 years (with BS) of pre-silicon IP verification know-how preferably in CPU or Graphics cores
  • Solid understanding of high-performance microprocessor/computer architecture, OOO execution and cache coherency concepts
  • Experienced in developing block level and chip level testing infrastructure using industry standard languages like System Verilog, SVTB, UVM/OVM and simulation tools
  • Familiarity with ARM or x86 or RISC V/SPARC architecture and assembly language
  • Programming experience in languages common to the industry (e.g., C, C++, Perl, Python)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, strong analytical/problem solving skills

The full base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $225,600, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $146,300 and $243,800.
