The Egg Breaker Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the egg breaking and processing plant. This role involves managing production processes, ensuring product quality, maintaining safety standards, developing, coaching, and leading a diverse team of employees. The manager will play a critical role in optimizing plant operations, food safety and achieving financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
  • Production Oversight: Direct and coordinate daily plant operations, including egg breaking, processing, and shipments to meet schedules and quality standards.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve operational issues, such as equipment malfunctions, production delays, or quality deviations, promptly and effectively.
Quality Control:
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure the consistent production of high-quality egg product that meet or exceed standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and product shipments.
  • Inspection: Oversee regular inspections of egg product for safety, quality, and take corrective actions as necessary.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Staff Management: Supervise and lead a team of leaders, quality control technicians, maintenance staff, sanitation staff, egg candlers, and other personnel.
  • Training and Development: Design and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance staff skills, knowledge, and safety awareness. Facilitate ongoing professional development of the team.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and develop individualized improvement plans. Recognize and reward exceptional performance to motivate and retain top talent.
  • Team Building: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Organize team-building activities and encourage open communication to strengthen team cohesion and morale.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Prepare for and manage emergency situations, including equipment failures, safety incidents, and other hazards.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure proper waste management and environmental practices are in place.
Maintenance and Equipment Management:
  • Equipment Oversight: Work with the maintenance department for repair, and calibration of plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Inventory, scheduling and Supply Chain Management:
  • Scheduling : Schedule and plan for the raw shell pickups, tanker schedules, accurate and on time reports, chemical inventory management, inedible pickups and others as necessary.
  • Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and address any supply chain issues.
  • Inventory Tracking: Implement and manage inventory tracking systems to maintain accurate records and support efficient production planning.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Production Reporting: Prepare and analyze production reports, including performance metrics, yield rates, and operational costs, to inform management decisions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of production activities, quality control measures, safety incidents, and maintenance activities for regulatory and internal review.
Budget Management:
  • Budget Planning: Manage the plant's budget, including forecasting costs for labor, materials, maintenance, and other operational expenses.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control expenses to stay within budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
