Credit Assistant

Qualifications

1 + years of experience within accounts receivable/credit

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or any other related field of study

Basic knowledge in Excel

Job Description

+ Review daily cash deposits (lockbox account, mail, and walk-in) against all pending credit holds and related reports such as unapplied cash and exception reports.

+ Assist the Business Service Center (BSC) with all A/R postings, including questions, discrepancies, and locating customers.

+ Process credit applications for new and existing accounts.

+ Call trade references, credit associates, salespeople, and others to obtain credit information and escalate as appropriate for credit limit decisions.

+ Complete credit reference requests.

+ Make daily collection calls based on file reviews as required.

+ Escalate customer issues such as short pays, disputed invoices, claims, delinquent accounts, and bad checks.

+ Review delinquent accounts considered uncollectible and escalate as appropriate to ensure maximum collection efforts.

+ Assist with month-end A/R adjustments.

+ File credit reports, credit applications, and maintain customer files, ensuring appropriate reviews are performed in accordance with credit policy.

+ Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.

+ Assist with the preparation of documents/records for review, duplication, and distribution as appropriate.

+ Support research of discrepancies and/or supporting documentation as appropriate.
