About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Communications to spearhead a dynamic and comprehensive media, publications, and digital communications agenda. This role is pivotal in leading the organization's communication strategy with a focus on energy, creativity, and a proactive approach to both promoting and protecting the organization's reputation. The successful candidate will work closely with various partners, including those in advancement, athletics, and enrollment management, to ensure that the communication strategy is aligned with the company's strategic goals. They must be adept at crisis management, a savvy and strategic communicator, and a visionary leader who is unafraid to explore new, bold ideas. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, and a bachelor's degree is required. The role demands a collaborative spirit, humility, and a high level of resourcefulness. The Associate Vice President will be responsible for building and leading a team of talented individuals, so the ability to motivate and maintain a standard of excellence in all communications is essential. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer marketing in higher education and the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences. They should also be an excellent writer, with a proven track record in the field, and be prepared to work at a national and international level, positioning the organization as a thought leader in higher education and other relevant industries.
