Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound receipts for assigned Free Trade Zone locations.
  • Communicate with respective Free Trade Zone locations to coordinate and validate inventory.
  • Respond timely to email inquiries regarding international logistics
  • Audit Entry/Entry Summary, Free Trade Zone data with customs broker for forwarding
  • Correspond with foreign vendors and purchasing dept. to obtain documents and information necessary for Customs clearance
  • Consult directly with brokers to troubleshoot problems and coordinate action items for improvement
  • Classify products with HTS code
  • File quarterly HMF reports with U.S. Customs
  • Audit import & export files for recordkeeping compliance
  • Audit entry summaries from Customs Brokers for accuracy and compliance
  • Resolve errors found on entry summaries with brokers
  • Maintain written operating procedures for internal compliance programs and nominated U.S. Customs brokers

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Free Trade Zones and related operational activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiar with ACE reporting
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Certified Customs Specialist designation preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a customs warehouse or working with import procedures
  • Prior experience preparing customs and shipping documents preferred.
