Commissioning Engineer

Job Title: Commissioning Engineer Location: Pikka Project - North Slope, AK Schedule: Rotation: 3x3 (7 x 12 Hour Days) Reports to: Commissioning Manager Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, 401k, Vision. What You Will Do: As a Commissioning Engineer at Udelhoven, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of Alaska’s largest oil and gas project in 25 years. Your responsibilities extend beyond reviewing engineering drawings. You will actively contribute to building and maintaining a database used to track project progress and completion. This database is populated based on drawings and datasets from engineering and is verified against project drawings. The continual synchronization of drawing revisions with the project database is a large part of your role. Additionally, you may be expected to communicate with construction and commissioning stakeholders to promote focused completion of project goals with a focus on safety. Duties: Commissioning Planning: Develop and execute commissioning plans for oil production facilities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and regulatory requirements. System Testing & Integration: Conduct thorough testing and integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems to verify functionality and performance. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. Safety & Compliance: Implement safety protocols and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted with a strong focus on safety and environmental protection. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of commissioning activities, test results, and operational parameters. Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and management. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations to ensure seamless project execution and handover. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements during commissioning and startup phases. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering preferred but not required. Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Commissioning Engineer or similar role in the oil and gas industry, preferably with exposure to offshore or Arctic environments. Strong understanding of commissioning processes, equipment, and systems related to oil production facilities. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to oil and gas operations as well as Completions Management Systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with systemization and limit of system handover drawings, experience with specific equipment or systems relevant to Arctic oil production, familiarity with cold climate operations and associated challenges.
