Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Indirect Tax Compliance to be an integral part of our diverse, customer-centric organization. In this role, you will work collaboratively with essential business units (FP&A, IT, Sales, Product, Legal, Rev Ops, etc.) to refine and enhance processes related to global expansion.

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at various leadership levels to ensure compliance with global statutory and market entry requirements.
- Possess extensive knowledge of indirect tax regulations and a commitment to developing and executing strategies that ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee and manage global account reconciliations for indirect tax accounts, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting.
- Lead and coordinate indirect tax audits and inquiries, ensuring a seamless process while minimizing financial and reputational risks.
- Proactively identify indirect tax opportunities and analyze intricate tax matters associated with business expansion, systems, and controls, independently offering recommendations and solutions to mitigate risks.
- Support ERP transformation initiatives by spearheading the implementation of a global tax engine to facilitate ongoing global expansion and sales tax considerations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training materials for global VAT/GST/Sales tax, collaborating with key stakeholders to establish new processes, requirements, and policies.
- Manage relationships with external advisors providing global indirect tax compliance services to guarantee accurate and timely filings.
- Offer guidance, coaching, and mentorship across the team.
- Lead cross-functional finance projects and process enhancements to boost efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 6+ years of progressively advanced indirect tax experience acquired in public accounting and/or industry, with a deep understanding of US domestic indirect taxes (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax) and broad knowledge of international indirect tax (VAT/GST) laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in successfully leading finance projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated experience working across time zones and collaborating with team members in various geographic locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional audit certification - Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Master’s degree in Taxation or LLM.
- Previous experience with Avalara or Vertex.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and researching complex indirect tax (VAT/GST) concepts related to the cross-border movement of SaaS with significant business implications and similar issues.
- Ability to assist others in optimizing software tools to enhance task efficiency and reporting.
- Self-motivated with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and personalities concurrently. Strong drive and work ethic.
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to work cross-functionally with individuals at various organizational levels and diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is 142,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, commissions, equity, and/or benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position.
