The Watts Internship Program is strategically designed to provide you with the opportunity to utilize what you have learned in the classroom while gaining a true understanding of the business world through hands-on experience. What You'll Do
The EHS Intern will help ensure regulatory compliance and implement risk or prevention-focused initiatives. Exposure to Project Management, Business Analytics, Quality Management, and Interdepartmental Collaboration during the approximately 13-week internship.
Data Analysis
- Analyze injury and near miss data to identify priority areas
Hazard Analysis and Ergonomic Assessments
- Execute job hazard analysis including ergonomic assessments and deliver improvement recommendations
Environmental Audits
- Complete environmental audits (e.g. ISO 14001)
Support sustainability project scoping and execution
Minimum Qualifications
Current student (sophomore, junior, or senior) actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computing skills
Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented mentality and ability to work independently
Working Conditions
Work in an office or manufacturing environment
*Physical Requirements
While performing the duties, the employee will be working in an office environment with exposure to the plant floor and Engineering Test Facility. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle objects and tools. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The Employee may be required to lift, push, and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
