The Sales and Management Intern position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales and Management Interns perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work closely with the Store Manager to develop an understanding of how Buckle’s retail business works and what it takes to excel in management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and consistently provide legendary service Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education to Team Maintain knowledge of sales, promotions, payment, exchanges, and security practices Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management Provide legendary service in Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area Assist Guests in trying on merchandise, checking out, and bagging purchases Prepare merchandise for alterations and handle exchanges and returns Utilize the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily Meet performance standards in business builders and guest loyalty Place Special Orders or call other stores for desired merchandise Build good Guest relationships and understand Buckle’s customer service expectations Maintain high standards in the store Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development Recognize recruiting opportunities and maintain a positive floor culture Present merchandise for maximum sales and optimum turn Stay current on product range and solicit feedback for improvements Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and displays are attractive Operations Work a flexible schedule based on store needs Handle cash registers, magnetic card readers, money counting, and deposits Prevent theft and handle security risks Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and understand POS procedures Execute policies on payments, exchanges, and Loss Prevention Perform merchandising tasks, maintain store cleanliness, and provide feedback Communicate policy violations and concerns to Management in a timely manner Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies Complete all assigned duties Internship Duties Complete required sections of the Buckle Management Manual Provide weekly reports to Area Manager and District Manager Understand Buckle’s products, sales presentation, and merchandising process Manage a product category, educate teammates, and track results Lead and motivate the team through Performance Tracker Develop recruiting, merchandising, and leadership skills Actively participate in conference calls Take ownership of Internship assignments Perform job duties with high customer service and contribute to team spirit Complete special projects and assigned duties Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field of study; no prior experience or training necessary. Additional Qualifications Interested in a long-term commitment with Buckle No visa sponsorship available Physical Demands The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and talking. Ability to lift and maneuver 30lbs. Vision abilities required. Work environment is usually moderate noise level.
