Description

In this role you will improve the Credit Union's competitive position and community perception, consistent with its mission, vision and values. Develop objectives, policies and programs for marketing of the Credit Union. Plan, direct, and coordinate the efforts of marketing the accomplishment of overall objectives; supply advice and assistance to the leadership team and other operating units within the organization.

This position links marketing strategy to organizational strategy as we focus on building DNCU's brand across the state. We are looking for someone with experience in developing an "always on" marketing approach, which includes experience with CRM and automation.

The salary range for this position is $103,330.08 to $129,162.60. New hires typically brought into the organization at a rate between the range minimum and the range maximum, depending on the qualifications, internal equity and the budgeted amount for the role.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Develops annual marketing and media plans. This is completed by following the marketing annual planning process. Meeting with internal key stakeholders and formulating annual marketing plan based on all inputs. Directs all advertising and sales promotions for products and services; develops advertising programs, online and collateral materials.
  • Develops, proposes, gains acceptance for, and implements strategic plans designed to meet the credit union's short- and long-term marketing objectives.
  • Directs marketing and sales planning, including an analysis of competitive products/services and selling techniques, legislation, budgets, pricing and distribution.
  • In support of the Credit Union's performance excellence initiatives all managers are expected to take ownership of several strategically important responsibilities including: managing their staff in alignment with the credit union's management philosophy and the identification and implementation of training and development needs for everyone in their department, including cross-training and succession planning. The building and managing of vendor relationships including costs, risks and timely review of contracts for assigned vendors. Compliance with all related policies, procedures and regulations; and the documentation and improvement of departmental processes and procedures; and serving on cross-functional project teams and making sure that all associated tasks are completed timely. Oversees the marketing department: hires, trains, directs, and evaluates employee performance; recommends promotions/transfers and salary adjustments.
  • Responsible for the Medial Relations, Social Media, and CANSPAM Policies of the Credit Union. Key driver for all external communications. Responsible for maintaining trademarks and domains used for DNCU, DNIS, DNLF, Keep-it-Co-Op.
  • Continual process improvements implemented that will automate the direct marketing strategies, including the implementation of a customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
  • Oversees market research, focus groups, and recommends product/service modifications or improvements.
  • Manages social media feedback and responses while safely minimizing reputational risk.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Requirements

Experience:

Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education:

(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Interpersonal Skills:

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills:
  • Creative skills ability to generate differentiated creative concepts and ability to follow concept through production.
  • Creative writing and knowledge of target marketing required.
  • Must possess organizational and analytical skills; must be able to coordinate a variety of projects.
  • Must possess PC skills and be able to run spreadsheets, word processing, and publishing software as well as other general office equipment.
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects to hit all deadlines without fail.
  • Excellent copy writing skills and ability to generate marketing copy quickly with no grammatical or spelling errors.
  • Creative skills ability to generate differentiated creative concepts and ability to follow concept through production.
  • Highest level of Microsoft Word, Power point and Excel. Excellent planning, scheduling and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, a bright outlook and desire to learn.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast changing environment.

Physical Requirements: Some physical activity (in variable weather conditions) is necessary. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, reach & lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Work may involve working non-traditional hours including, nights & weekends in support of department & organizational initiatives.
