The Quality Engineer assists in the planning, development, implementation, communication and maintenance of the company's quality management systems, policies, documentation, data, and customer specific requirements. Resolves defects and other potential issues and ensures that products meet customer specifications.

  • Reviews design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products to identify opportunities for reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
  • Ensures products meet the organization and customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
  • Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured inspection plans and work instructions.
  • Produces PPAP and FAI documentation to meet customer requirements.
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • Monitors overall production process.
  • Performs audits based on AS9100/NADCAP protocols.
  • Addresses key problem areas in the manufacturing process.
  • Works with managers to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline required.
  • Two years of related experience required.
  • AS9100 and NADCAP experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of SPC a plus
  • Familiar with QA software tools
  • ASQ certification a plus
